Brothers Needed for ALL Father’s Day Weekend Masses to Receive donations for MOMMA’S House
Brothers All,
With the full support of our Chaplin and Pastor, a Parish-wide collection of most needed items for MOMMA’S House, will take place at all Masses on June 19th & 20th. At least 3 Brothers are needed, BEFORE each Mass to receive the donations and to bring them to our Council Chamber. Brothers will also be needed at the END of each Mass, to receive “drop off” items or to accept financial contributions. This is the first Pope Pius XII Council donation collection for MOMMA’S House in 2021. Also check the Knight’s Corner in the Parish Bulletin.
During 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, Pope Pius XII Council kept its commit ment to tangibly contribute to MOMMA’S House, frequently needed baby & household items, due to the generosity of our Brotherhood and friends of the Council, making much needed de liveries in June and October. MOMMA’s House is the only long-term Mother- Child transition al housing program on Long Island, providing homeless, pregnant young women and their ba bies’ shelter and a path to a responsible, independent life. MOMMA’S House, which began in 1986, is currently home to 25 young mothers and their families, in five residences.
Most Needed Items:
Laundry Detergent: Household Cleaners
Baby Wipes; Baby Diapers (Sizes 4, 5 or 6)
Paper Products (Toilet Paper, Paper Towels or Napkins)
Financial Contributions (to assist with monthly household expenses)
Delivery of donated items to MOMMA’S House in Wantagh, NY is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22. ALL available Knights will be needed for the transport of these items. Look for future Pope Pius XII emails on both the Mass collections and the delivery.
